Abortion is Anti-Vegan and Anti-God. By Dr. Chapman Chen

To perform abortion or to undergo abortion, unless in a life or death situation for the mother (note 1),is an unethical, anti-vegan, and anti-God act.

Theologically speaking, God made us and knew us as early as when we’re in our mother’s womb (Job 31:15; Jeremiah 1:5). And “Thou shalt not kill!” (Exodus 20:13 KJV). As over 96% (5,337) among the 5,577 biologists who responded to a 2021 survey on when a human’s life begin concurred that human life begins at fertilization (Jacobs 2021) (note 2), abortion unequivocally violates the Sixth Commandment.

Ethically speaking, fetuses are sentient beings able to feel pain. Medical experts agree that fetal pain begins at 12 weeks gestation (Derbyshire and Bockmann 2019) (note 3) and may even be felt as early as eight weeks (Moseley 1985) (note 4). Dr. Kanwaljeet Anand (2004), a professor of pediatrics, anesthesiology, and neurobiology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, reports that the fetus’ cerebral cortex begins forming as early as week 4 (note 5).

Abortionist John Szenes (1976) recounts observing a preborn baby struggling for survival during a saline injection, stating: "Suddenly, there was noticeable activity in the uterus at the time of the saline infusion. This movement was not due to fluid currents but was clearly the fetus reacting in distress, swallowing the concentrated salt solution and kicking violently. This, in essence, represents the trauma of death (note 6)" Thus, human fetuses fight for their life until the very end in their mother’s womb just like animals in the slaughterhouse!

Former abortionist Dr. Anthony Levatino vividly describes how the two most commonly performed abortion procedures—first-trimester dilation and curettage and second-trimester dilation and evacuation—dismember the fetus and crush its skull to facilitate removal through the cervix, resulting in white brain matter spilling out (see Ciancio 2021; 2024) (note 7). Dr. Levatino further portrays how abortion pills rob the fetus of necessary shelter and nutrients within the womb, while digoxin injections, puncturing the fetus's head or chest, kill him/her by inducing cardiac arrest (ibid.).

In Stenberg v. Carhart, the US Supreme Court (1999) provides a gruesome description of a D&E abortion: “The fetus, in many cases, dies just as a human adult or child would: it bleeds to death as it is torn apart limb by limb (note 8).” So to terminate the life of an unborn is to commit cold-blooded murder in defiance of our all-loving God. Do remember: God is love (1 John 4:8 NIV); God loves the world (John 3:16), including ALL His creation (Psalm 145:9); and Christ is compassion (Matthew 9:13; 12:7). Based on the definition of veganism made by the Vegan Society (n.d.) (note 9), all lives matter, including both fetuses and adults, humans and animals. The baby has his/her own body. Not your body, not your choice! (Contraception is alright. Murder is not.)

Notes

1. In the case of obstructed labor, a life-or-death situation, the mother is understandably entitled to choose between preserving her own life or that of her baby. In all other cases, abortion is literally murder. In the case of rape resulting in pregnancy, only the rapist is to blame; neither the mother nor the baby bears any fault. If the mother is unable or unwilling to raise the baby, she may place the child with a charity organization to await adoption, rather than having the innocent creature slaughtered while he/she is inside her womb. In the case of pregnancy resulting from consensual sex without any contraceptive measures, the parents have a responsibility to raise the baby rather than terminate his or her life at any stage following fertilization. In the case of pregnancy resulting from consensual sex despite the use of contraceptive measures, the parents still have the obligation to raise the baby instead of killing him/her at any stage ensuing fertilization because the baby is, again, totally innocent and by no means deserves capital punishment.

The burden of proof should be on those who assert otherwise” (Moseley 1985). Quoted in David H. Andrusko. ""Silent No More" Or Nothing to Say?" National Right to Life News, May 30, 1985, p. 2.
