The Lunar New Year of the Fire Horse falls on February 17 this year, ushering in the Year of the Crimson Sheep the following year. The notorious “Red Horse, Crimson Sheep Calamity” in Eastern cosmology is strikingly mirrored by the Red Horse and Bloodied Lamb prophecy in Revelation. Together, they offer a lens to foresee global events in the coming two years: Dictators backed by the Dark Force will wage a world war, only to be destroyed by the very backfire they ignite.
1. 5 Elements & 12 Animals
In Eastern cosmology, the universe is governed by the Five Elements (五行, wǔxíng): Metal (金), Wood (木), Water (水), Fire (火), and Earth (土). These elements interact through cycles of generation and overcoming, forming a foundational framework for understanding natural phenomena, seasons, directions, and human affairs. Complementing this system is the Chinese zodiac, consisting of twelve animals (十二生肖): Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat (or Sheep), Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. The pairing of each of the 12 zodiac animals with each of the 5 elements in turn creates the traditional sexagenary circle, a repeating 60-year cycle (六十甲子). As a result, each year is identified by both an animal and an element (e.g., Wood Dragon, Fire Horse), and the full combination repeats only every 60 years. This elegant system has been used for millennia in Chinese calendrics, astrology, feng shui, and traditional philosophy to mark time and interpret destiny.
2. Red Horse & Crimson Sheep Calamity
A notorious pattern is the “Red Horse and Crimson Sheep Calamity” (赤馬紅羊劫), occurring in consecutive Bingwu (丙午, Fire Horse) and Dingwei (丁未, Fire Sheep) years. These double-Fire years are traditionally linked to war, bloodshed, rebellions, natural disasters, and dynastic upheaval, a belief rooted in historical prophetic texts and recurring every 60 years. Historical examples include:
1906 (Fire Horse): Major typhoon in South-eastern China (thousands dead); Yangtze dike failures caused ~40,000 flood deaths and affected over 400,000 people.
1907 (Fire Sheep): Widespread uprisings and riots; 1908 deaths of Cixi and Guangxu Emperor accelerated Qing collapse; Xinhai Revolution followed in 1911.
1966 (Fire Horse): Cultural Revolution began — a decade-long catastrophe that devastated traditional culture and caused tens of millions of unnatural deaths.
These alignments reflect a persistent Chinese cosmological view: extreme Fire energy often coincides with transformative — and frequently traumatic — societal shifts. The Lunar New Year of the Horse will fall on February 17 of 2026.
3. The Red Horse & Bloodied Lamb in Revelation
The Red Horse and Crimson Sheep Calamity finds an intriguing parallel in the Book of Revelation. In biblical symbolism, red—just as fire in Chinese cosmology—is strongly associated with war, bloodshed, violence, and civil unrest.
In Revelation, the Red Horse rider unleashes a season of war, bloodshed, and widespread violence, removing peace from the earth (Rev 6:3-4). Amid this turmoil, the Lamb—covered in blood—suffers within that broken world (Rev 5:6, 9). The wounded Lamb could symbolize Christ (though not in an atonement sense), as well as animals abused by humans. The Red Dragon vainly attempts to devour the newborn child (Rev 12). He empowers the Beast to enforce brutal global dictatorship and instructs the False Prophet to propagate deceptive propaganda that endorses the Beast's tyrannical rule (Rev 13). A 200-million-strong army is released (Rev 9:14-16) (which modern country has so large a population?), and the kings of the east assemble for the final battle against the righteous at Armageddon (Rev 16:14, 16). Ultimately, the bloodied Lamb returns triumphantly as the Rider on the White Horse to defeat the Beast, the False Prophet, their armies, and finally the Red Dragon (Rev 19). All these forces of evil are cast into the lake of fire (Rev 19:20–20:3). And a new heaven and a new earth ensues (Rev 21–22).
The major difference between these two structures is that, in the Eastern model, the Mandate of Heaven shifts from one dynasty to another, whereas in the Western apocalyptic model, Christ Himself returns as the Rider on the White Horse to bring the chaos to an end.
4. 666 Governing Magog in 2026
The two sets of predictions may apply to the current global situation. The Oriental Red Dragon (Communist China), since 2012, has empowered a beastly leader (Xi Jinping) to exercise totalitarian rule over Magog (China) (Gen 10:2; Ezek 38-39) (note 1), where there is no animal protection law at all, and that beastly leader has paid off numerous KOLs—or false prophets—to eulogize and endorse his atrocious dictatorship. The English gematria values of President Xi Jinping is none other than 666 × 2. Note that the Bible tells us the mark of the beast is 666 (Rev 13:18).
5. The Beast Allying with the Kings of the East
Predictably, in 2026, that beastly leader will ride his blood-red horse, invade Formosa (a newborn country), and try to commit genocide in the Pearl of the East, where lambs have been suffering ever since 29 years ago. The Land of the Rising Sun & the Bald Eagle will promptly & proactively intervene, as their leaders have promised. Everybody else will jump in, too. Meanwhile, the beastly leader will summon a massive army against the righteous allies. He will join force with the Kings of the East—including Meshech [Moscow], Persia [Iran], Ethiopia (Ezek 38:5), and N. Korea (Ezek 38:15)—and attack the free Christian world, symbolized by Israel in the OT (Ezek 38:2–12).
6. The Backfire
By 2027, the Year of the Sheep, however, the Beast’s fiery aggression will backfire, sparking rebellions everywhere in his country. The blaze of the Horse year will lead to smoldering consequences in the Sheep year. In the end, the Lamb in blood will rise. A White Horse Rider (President of the Bald Eagle?) will conquer the Beast, exterminate the false prophets, and dismember the Oriental Red Dragon. The Pearl of the East will be returned to Blighty, and peace will be restored to Earth.
7. Conclusion
It is the destiny of the wounded Lamb, representing both farmed animals and downtrodden people, to rise as/with the White Horse Rider — the liberator — to end all oppression, exploitation, and aggression. “Be sure of this: The wicked will not go unpunished, but those who are righteous will go free” (Proverbs 11:21 NIV).
Notes
1. According to Ezekiel 38: 2-16, China will unite with Russia, Iran and a few African countries to war against “Israel”:
Set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him...Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet....To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited... And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land".
Now, what is Magog? It turns out that Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth (Genesis 9:15-18). Shem fathered the white race; Ham fathered the black; and Japheth, the yellow race (Stephen Flurry, Ron Fraser, Andrew Locher 2013). Genesis 10:2-3 list the sons of Japheth: “… Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras. And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.”
In Compendium of World History, Herman Hoeh (1967) correctly identified Magog as the ancestor of the people of China and Mongolia; Meshech and Tubal as fathers of those who comprise greater Russia today. In fact, Gog and Magog were held by the Mongol to be their ancestors, at least by some segment of the population. As traveler and Friar Riccoldo da Monte di Croce put it in c. 1291, "They say themselves that they are descended from Gog and Magog: and on this account they are called Mogoli, as if from a corruption of Magogoli".
Herbert W. Armstrong concurred with Dr. Hoeh’s research. Referring to Ezekiel 38:2, he said, “There is general agreement among students of prophecy that ‘Gog’ in the land of ‘Magog’ is the vast regions of northern Eurasia extending from the Baltic to the Pacific. ‘Meshech’ is Moscow, ‘Tubal’ is Tobolsk (Plain Truth, April 1981). Jewish historian Flavius Josephus records that some descendants of Japheth—such as the families of Gomer, Tubal and Togarmah—first settled in southern Europe before migrating east into Asia.
In end-time biblical prophecies "Israel" represents the American and British descended people as explained in What's Ahead for America and Britain? (The Living Church of God 2001).
