Miss Cindy Amick (https://www.facebook.com/cindy.hopper.amick ): "Does anyone know of a vegan musician who would be interested in working on a project with me? I wrote a song called “Lift the Veil” about animals living on factory farms. "

Editor’s Review: The lyrics are simple yet powerful, and the melody is celestial and profoundly moving. Although Miss Amick is a self-taught singer, her performance is both natural and impressively polished. She has indeed done a good job for the Christly mission of animal liberation.

Lift The Veil

By Cindy Amick

For the Voiceless

Intro music

Verse 1

We were born into this world with

A veil that covers our eyes

So we don’t see their pain and suffering

Screams in the darkness

Families torn apart

But the truth is there for those who wish to see

Chorus

Illuminate the darkness

For all the world to see

The faces of the innocent

Crying out to you and me

Illuminate the darkness, and

Lift the veil to see

The faces of the helpless

Do not be deceived

Be deceived

Verse 2

The darkness covers their world

No sunshine on their face

No grass under their feet, fresh air to breathe

The will to live and love

Given by God above

Look in their eyes, stand up to cruelty

Instrumental break

Verse 3

It’s time to lift the veil

My soul cries out to you

It’s not too late for us to change, believe

Now, come and take my hand

Everyone across the land

So we can finally set the captives free

Chorus

Illuminate the darkness

For all the world to see

The faces of the innocent

Crying out to you and me

Illuminate the darkness, and

Lift the veil to see

The faces of the animals

So we can set them free

Set them free

Set them free

Set them free…

You are free

Galations 5: 1: It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
