Turkish Animal Holocaust Law Contradicts Both the Old Testament and a Hadith. By Dr. Chapman Chen

Turkey’s parliament on Tuesday passed controversial legislation to round up four million stray dogs despite fierce opposition from animal rights activists. This must be wrong from the perspective of both Christianity and Islam.

"Thou shalt not kill!" (Exodus 20:13 KJV; Matthew 19:18 KJV), commands God. [According to the world-renowned Hebrew scholar, Reuben Alcalay’s (1981) The Complete Hebrew-English Dictionary, “Thou shalt not kill לֹא תִּרְצָח Lo tirtzakh” covers any sentient beings.] “I desire COMPASSION, rather than sacrifice,” declares Jesus (Matthew 9:13 NASB).

“A good deed done to an animal is as meritorious as a good deed done to a human being, while an act of cruelty to an animal is as bad as an act of cruelty to a human being. Imam Muhammad ibn Ismail al-Bukhari quotes in Sahih al-Bukhari Prophet Muhammad as saying. And no animals will be omitted from the Book:- "There is not an animal that lives on the earth, nor a being that flies on its wings, but they are communities like you. Nothing have We omitted from the Book, and they all shall be gathered to their Lord in the end" (Quran 6:38).
