Vegan Theology: The Study of Divine Mercy. By Dr Chapman Chen

There are still 2.4 billion Christians in the world, most of whom are not vegan because they believe that Christianity does not mandate veganism. Meanwhile, 3 trillion innocent creatures of God are murdered by humans every year.
The objectives of our free ongoing online course, Vegan Theology, and of our Facebook group of the same name are:
1. To show that Christianity is inherently a vegan faith.
2. To demonstrate that Jesus is the Vegan Christ.
3. To address and resolve challenges to veganism in the Bible.
We review biblical narratives from a vegan perspective, referencing various versions of the Gospels in different languages, apocryphal writings, historical records, and the works of prominent theologians. Adopting Professor James Tabor’s (2024) method, the course examines dubious verses in order to retrieve their original features by seeking to understand the intent of the uninterpolated text and the concerns of potential interpolators.
The ultimate litmus test for any biblical verse is: “God is love” (1 John 4:7), and Christ is compassion (Matthew 12:7).
Our free online course was originally scheduled for 12 sessions. However, due to high demand and the overwhelmingly positive response, we have decided to turn it into an ongoing seminar and fellowship. As of 1 March, 15 sessions have already been held.
Our course and our Facebook group argue why “dominion” in Genesis 1:26 means servanthood rather than domination over animals; why God never permitted Noah and his offspring to kill and eat animals; why the animal sacrificial rituals detailed in certain portions of the Old Testament are not authentic; why Jesus never distributed or ate fish; and why Paul encouraged people to eat whatever was sold in the meat market without guilt — and much more.
