In the beginning, Eden’s grace,
A quiet, green, and holy place.
No shadow fell, no creatures bled,
As fruit and seed gave daily bread.
We wandered far from that design,
But Christ has offered something fine—
A second Eden, pure and bright,
Where mercy triumphs over might.
Upon the cross, the Shepherd bled,
To awaken the living dead.
He taught us love, a higher way,
To shield the weak and heal, not slay.
I look into the creature's eye,
And see the breath of the Most High.
The gentle lamb, the soaring dove,
Reflections of a boundless love.
So at my table, I will break
The gifts of earth for Jesus’ sake.
A harvest spread, a peaceful feast,
That harms no one, nor child, nor beast.
May all I eat, and all I do,
Reflect a heart made kind and new.
To walk in grace, to breathe, to live,
And only love, as Thou didst give.
