Bless the Lord, O my soul!

O God, how tender is Your light,

robed in the brilliance of morning,

You stretch the heavens like silken cloth.

You walk on the breath of the wind,

and sing through the wings of doves.

You set the earth on its sure foundation,

and plant peace in every meadow.

The springs gush forth in hidden places,

quenching the thirst of all who wander.

Birds nest safely among the branches,

and sing psalms where no temple walls rise.

You water the hills with mercy,

and the fields blossom at Your smile.

The trees clap their leafy hands in joy,

and the grass grows green for Your creatures.

For the gentle deer and patient ox,

for the lamb and lion resting side by side—

and yes, for the rabbits too,

who leap through clover with ears held high,

nibbling in peace under moonlight,

safe in the shadow of Your love.

You have not forgotten them.

You made room for their soft hearts and trembling paws.

You gave them herbs to eat,

and burrows to hide,

and whispered to the world:

“ This also is good.”

O Lord, how manifold are Your works!

In wisdom You have made them all—

the great and the small, the wild and the mild,

those with wings and those with fur.

Let Your glory endure forever.

Let compassion rise like incense.

May we live gently upon Your earth,

and never again lift hand

or blade against the ones You cherish.

Bless the Lord, O my soul.

Let every creature say: Amen.
