Jesus, who famously declared "I desire compassion, NOT sacrifice" (Matthew 12:7), would not be a Christian if he were to be born again on this planet in the 21st Century. He would not enter any church with an eco-hostile Christmas tree during Christmas. On the contrary, He would call most leaders of mainstream churches hypocrites (cf. Matthew 23:13, 27) and rebuke them for encouraging the consumption of animal flesh and the abuse of animals, for their self-serving sermons, and for kowtowing to dictators.
If reincarnated on earth as a human, Jesus would likely be labelled a lunatic and badly persecuted again. He might be charged with burglary, trespassing, practicing medicine without a license, and even sedition and subversion, ultimately facing either organ harvesting (an equivalent of crucifixion) or years of imprisonment, unless the Almighty God intervenes in time.
For Jesus would be preaching a compassion that is inseparable from action. Partnering with His soulmate Mary Magdalene and other like-minded comrades, He would take direct action to rescue animals from slaughterhouses and factory farms, just as He cleansed the Temple 2,000 years ago. He would be strictly vegan and vigorously promoting veganism.
He would also perform hands-on healing to cure the sick, just as He had healed the crippled, the blind, and even raised the dead. He would frequently fast for 40 days, wear light-coloured, rugged clothing, and stand with the most exploited, marginalized, and despised individuals against the establishment. He would lead millions of people into the streets to protest the suppression of free speech by dictators, challenging the authorities as he once did in Jerusalem (e.g., Mark 11:15-17, 23:1-36, 1:15, 2:27; Matt. 21:1-11, 27:11-14, 27:37).
